Ebay have announced it will be closing the Picture Manager image hosting service in January 2010.

For many sellers using currently using Picture Manager rehosting all their images and editing each and every listing template description image URL is a job that will require a lot of time and effort, that’s time and effort better spent working on your business and answering customer emails.

The main problem faced with the Picture Manager retirement is editing each inventory template which uses Picture Manager image URLs in the description html.
(At the time of writing it is still unclear how eBay plan to manage images in template galleries that are currently hosted on Picture Manager)

We will copy all of your images to your own domain, Auctiva, or Photobucket.

All the hard work is done for you:
1) We copy all of your images from Picture Manager to your domain, PhotoBucket, or Auctiva
2) We edit all of your Selling Manager templates with the new URLs pointing to your new host

How much time would it take if you do it yourself?

We estimate saving you around 5-10 minutes labour for each template, with the most time consuming part being replacing the correct URLs for each image into the html of your template. This does not take into account checking for, and fixing, any errors made.

Additional work you always wanted done?

If you have any more than 30 or so inventory templates then you probably put off making any basic changes due to the time it takes to edit all templates.
At the same time we edit all your image URLs we can also do any number of other text replacements you require at the same time.
You may want to change some text description that appears in your listings such as your phone number, email address, terms and conditions or anything else, we’ll do it all at once.
We can even set your return policy which is a requirement from eBay as of June 2009.

Why not do it yourself?

Firstly if you are busy selling on eBay then you have no time!
Most importantly, we do most of this with software. Our custom software builds a database of all of your hosted images and cross-references the image name and the file size and replaces the full URL in your template only when it has a perfect match, so you can be sure your listing will look exactly the same!

Re-Hosting Images:

On your domain: Each image is download from eBay and uploaded into a folder on your domain with the same name as its Picture Manager folder.
(all folders are placed into a sub folder, eg: www.yourdomain.com/eBayimages/widgets/ )
On PhotoBucket or Auctiva: Each image is download from eBay and uploaded to a new album on PhotoBucket or Auctiva.
